Igho Mike, Mxps Rellington - SUNZ on PEGASUS Review

Igho Mike, Mxps Rellington - SUNZ on PEGASUS (2025)
Producers: Brotha Pollock, Bionic the Soul King, and Samuel Abu

“RISE” begins SUNZ on PEGASUS with a catalytic performance from Loliaba. A poem setting the tone for it’s resilient approach to an arrangement of topics surrounding personal experiences to global dilemmas.

Though “EERIE KNIGHTS” doesn’t stick out like other tracks, it’s placement in arrangement makes a good primer to “SKI MASK” for storytelling. “ISAGEN” is when the album really pivots to it’s best listens. The up-tempo, boom bap track knocks with an addictive chorus, and suits both Igho and Mxps seamlessly. “10000HEIGHTS” follows with a wave of metaphors between weed and the company of women over a heady, riveting loop.

The intermediary feature by Tafa Truth and the second part of “LIMES N LEMONS” is where the song shines. It swings from passing highs carried from it’s previous track, to the lows of existentialism and weighing one’s own morality. “SILK SCARVES” gives a coasting, groovy break before the album returns to it’s initial feel in the second half where “BLACK ORCHID” and “GHETTO SYMPHONY” standout. The overall production of the project makes for a great listen, even when the flows from the emcees on a few tracks aren’t as strong.
